For this experience, I used dirt instead of sand, due to the inability to go to the beach this weekend. I must say that sand feels much softer on my hands than dirt and is less compact. However, the plaster still worked and the outline of my fingers were more visible than I had imagined it would be. One thing that I thought was weird was that I could see the details of my nails in the mold. Overall, it was a fun experience and can be applied throughout other art experiences when we take one substance, like the powdered form of plaster, and create something new, like a mold of a body part.
